You Lazy Bum!

It has been a very long time since I heard that phrase. My friend called me that since I have not been updating my blog for quite some time. I feel challenged and motivated by that phrase. The last time I recalled when I was in my secondary school. My English Language teacher, Mrs. Armstrong uttered that phrase to me. Why? Because I will have all kind of excuses for not handing over my essay homework to her on time.........but I didn't use the excuse of ' my goat ate my homework'. I'll make sure I'm realistic on that.

Once a while in our life, we need some motivation to boost up our self esteem. But motivation without action will absolutely become useless too.

I have been a lazy bum for quite some time ever since I become a house wife. I don't have to rush every morning to go to work, wasting time on choosing which 'baju' to wear for work today, competing with the traffic jam or punch card. Live have not been so hassle and hectic to me. I will take my own sweet time to finish my chores in the house. I will take my time to watch Martha Stewart, Oprah, Racheal Ray, Chef Wan cooking series or Spongebob Squarepants. There is no challenge at all except cooking for my family because I have to rush to the shop at the very last minute for some groceries. ( that's the challenge for being a lazy bum).
There is no worries of meeting the due date for submitting reports or rushing with the time to meet clients. There is no worries of getting fired or being given a memo from the management. Why? Because I am the Chairwoman of the house! ( My husband - The CEO have to go to work). I am not a good example, am I?

What do you do to motivate yourself everyday?

My friend once said, " I can't wait to go to work everyday even on Saturday or Sunday because my boss is so handsome''! Oops.......sorry! that is not a motivation but passion!

My neighbour once ask me? How to motivate and boost our children academic achievement? That's a simple question. Check it out from the internet dear....he..he..he...

We need some extra push forward to challenge with life but don't forget to cherish every moment we have in daily life with our love ones.

Live your life with motivation and inspiration and dont't forget to eat your Quaker oats for a healthy life. ( will I get paid for this advertisement?)

If you are not Happy

We can't be happy just by clapping our hands, flicking our fingers, stamping our feet or saying Hooray!
I believe sometimes we get really depressed, moody, unhappy because of broken-hearted, having financial problems, feeling bad coz our life is in a mess, we did not reach our goals or 1,001 of other problems.

Here are some of my suggestion ;

Don't just lay around and make yourself smelling bad.
Take a shower. Cry or shout or sing your favourite song. You'll feel relief. Clean yourself with aromatic shampoo or soap, scrub your body ( but not to hard), brush your teeth, shave....Groom yourself.... You will come out feeling fresh!

Pray to Allah. Our soul needs to eat too. Feed them. Moan or cry and tell your Creator your despair and unhappiness. Read the Quran with the Translation! InsyaAllah you will be given a sign.

Don't take on drugs or alcohol they won't solve your problems.

Talks to your parents, grandmother, grandfather, your brother or sister, your uncle or aunties, your friend, your banker, your teachers, your employer........explained...if you are shy just give them a hint.....don't keep problems to yourself...there will be someone with a shoulder to cry on.

Go to the Gym. Exercise yourself. Challenge your adrenaline. Make yourself healthy. If you're lucky who knows you will meet someone with 6 packs or someone the 'wa..wa..woom'...this is called killing two birds with one stone....he..he..he..

Read some motivational books by successful people, magazines ( they are lot of good advices in them). Start a new hobby like photography which can generate a good income too. Chatting..is that a hobby? I'll check it up.

Go to the park or playgrounds. Feed the fishes and ducks. Talk and play with the children and be the children yourself. Refresh your childhood memories...there's always a child in you...

Go to the beach or recreational park. Enjoy the view, sunken your feet into the sand, build the sand castle, smell the sea breeze, collect seashells, watch the sunset and tell yourself how lucky you are.....go swimming...but just don't drown yourself. Who knows you will meet a friend who can inspire you or makes you happy.

You are heart broken. Your girl friend or boy friend left you. Don' t cry yourself to death. If they came back it's up to you to give them a 2nd, 3rd,47th. chance or not a chance at all. If they don't, they can just go to hell! There will be someone worth waiting for you.

Don't join the Bohsia, Bohjan, gangsters or the Mat Rempit. They will only brings you to the Police Station, to the Hospital or to Hell.
Don't ruined your life because of one silly mistake you made today.

Make yourself busy. Tidy your room or house. Cook something, bake something. If you're not good at cooking at least you can fry some nuggets...ha...ha..ha..invite your friends to your house and watch ' The God must be crazy'. I 'll promise you will laugh.

If you have money....Pamper yourself. Go to the spa, get a massage, do pedicure or manicure, make over and change your image. Be Gorgeous!! Go shopping ( a kind of therapy but not advisable to the shopaholic).
If you are broke, just window shop but if you broke something you have to pay for it! So...avoid souvenier shop.

If you're still not happy go to the professionals may be they will have answers to your problems.

But the most important of all, think positive, be patience, feel good and take good care of yourself and always remember that some where out there, there is some one who is less fortunate then us.
.....Every clouds have a silver lining....

My Childhood

I pity the children nowadays for not having the chance of knowing or playing 'konda-kondi', hide and seek, playing 'police and theif', playing 'gasing' or 'guli', 'galah panjang', 'teng-teng' , 'rounders' and other games that I have played with my friends before.

Teng-teng

During my childhood I lived in Sungai Way, Petaling Jaya. My backyard and my neighbours backyard were our playground. There are no fence or any border to our world. Usually my friends will come over to my house because my backyard is bigger. Our routine everyday are playing whatever games that came accross our mind at that moment but before playing I have to do my school homeworks and my chores at home such as washing dishes, washing clothes( no washing machine in my house), sweeping the floor or running an errand to the 'kedai Apek' buying some groceries for my mother several times because she always forget to buy something when I reach home. Luckily 'kedai Apek' is just around the corner. The 'Apek' children played with us too and they speak very fluent Bahasa Melayu that they sounded like a malay.

We love playing hide and seek and sometimes having a hard time because the friend we were looking went home to have their lunch or Ah Chong have to take care of the shop for his father ( the 'Apek' ) who will take a nap. When we were thirsty we just went to the nearest tap that we can find to drink from it. There is no worries of getting sick after drinking the unboiled water. Sometimes we played in the rain too and rarely get fever or cold. I guess because the world is not so contiminated and polluted like the world today.

After having dinner my friends and I will recite the Quran with Pak Cik Din. Usually before teaching us we have to do some chores helping his wife like folding clothes ( pile of clothes because he had 8 children). That is how we repay him because he did not take any payment for his service. We don't have to go for tuisyen like kids nowadays. Some times we take the chance to play hide and seek after that but we usually will be running home after someone yells we will be hid by the 'hantu tetek' (a type of ghost believe to hid children under her big boob).
My family and I usually watch tv at night. I love to watch cowboys series like The High Chapparral or The Lone Ranger. Six Million Dollar Man is a popular tv series during my childhood time and my brother did not miss it. During that time all the tv series are in black and white.
We are still lucky because some of my friends parent could not afford to buy a tv set.

During school holidays, I usually went to my aunty's house in Telok Gong, Pelabuhan Klang to explore the kampung life. I love cycling along the coconut trees, climbing all the fruit trees which bare fruits on it like the monkeys, swimming in the stream, running after goats or looking for fighting fish with my cousin brothers. My aunty have 7 children, six of them are boys.

My father sometimes will take us to the cinema to watch the Indonesian movies or Bruce Lee movies. I remembered one Indonesian movie with a title 'Pendekar dari Gua Hantu' translation 'A warrior from the Ghost Cave'.
The seats are made from solid wood that my father have to hinge it with his hip to avoid me and my brother from plunging into it................we usually do....ha..ha..ha.....Sometimes we were sweating in the cinema because the air condition is not cold at all. When the movie ends, the sound of the seat retrieving are so noisy and irritating to my ears.

On weekend, sometimes my father brought my brother and I to the Merdeka Stadium to watch football games especially when Selangor team or Malaysian team are playing. We have the late Mokhtar Dahari, Soh Chin Aun, Santokh Singh, James Wong, Hassan Sani and others. I knew all the Malaysian footballers. I am sorry to say, I hardly knew today's Malaysian footballers except recently when we won the Suzuki Cup. I knew Khairul Fahmi Che Mat because he reminded me of our late goalkeeper the 'Spiderman' Arumugam.

Kids nowadays only play virtual games in the computer or the play station which they played only with their two fingers on the jolly stick. They don't sweat at all. They just went to school comes back going for Agama school then going for tuisyen class doing their homeworks and revision. On weekend attending tuisyen class again, Al-Quran class, ballet class, piano class or violin class set by their parents. Do the children have any choices?? .....the world have change and so have the parents life styles. Do the parents have choices?
I don't have the answer because I have to answer that to my children too.......

My Children

My daughter Yana loves music very much since she was small although I have never switch on the radio in our house, frankly speaking we never have one. She took up a guitar lesson in her school. My father said she would be the next Yuna. I am quite worried because she's having her PMR this year.
Just imagine her going to school with the guitar clinging on her back.

I did not encourage or discourage her with her new interest....but I'm always reminding her about her exam. She has a very keen interest in photography too that she is now begging her father to fulfill...that's is buying her a DSLR camera. Kids nowadays.....

When I was young....I can't hardly looked up to my father's face to ask for anything.....

Yana
Yuna

Ika

My second daughter with her happy go lucky attitude is really obsessed with the Korean pop group. She can sing their songs and even looked up in the internet to learn how to speak in Korean language.

When I was at her age ( yes....that was long..long time ago or 'the Retro Era') my friends and I adore ' The Hardy Boys ' but we are not really obsessed over them. I guess because ' apple is still a fruit' before it turns into a computer nowadays.

Daniel

My son has a very keen interest in drawing. He loves drawing aeroplanes, ship, trains and submarines since he was small. I manage to keep them till now. He can sit for hours to finish his drawing. I always encourage him to draw something of his own ideas and he is still working on it. He too has to be reminded always about his homeworks and revisions.
He's a cat lover. He adores cat very much and brought home any cat that he saw especially the kittens. When he does that I will usually say, 'Oh no!...no more cat pleassssseeee....!!!!
Oh!....here is a picture of his drawings.

Birthday Celebration

The happiest day in a child's life. We are happy to see them happy. Seeing the smiles on the cute and naive faces. Blowing candles on the cake....( sometimes we have to lid the candles several times just for the sake of satisfying their enthutiasm of embracing the moment....ha...ha..ha..).

......before you really notice, they will be grown-ups and whatever collection of memories you have for your children is always a welcome and the purest things in your life.

This is from 2010 photo album. Birthday celebration of Asyraaf, Rafiqi, Fatma and Fatihah.

Happy Birthday to Afikah & Syarwa....Happy Birthday to you.....

Happy Birthday & Thank you Aisyah...- Rajeswari
Aisyah giving goody packs for all her kindergarten friends.

Afiqah's and Syarwa's Birthday. Smile Afiqah...it's your birthday...!

Alleyya volunteerly took part in 'blowing the candles' event.

Qays's cutting his big blue Tom & Jerry Birthday cake. Mikail, Syarwa, Adlina, Alleyya, Vaisnavi get really excited.

And the most important thing of all........ as parents', grandmothers' or grandfathers', aunties and uncles don't forget to remind, tell and show our children that there are still many unfortunate children outside there who never had the chance to celebrate their birthday......
....A slice of cake means everything to them......

A message from my best friend

Dear Friends,

Interesting and very thoughtful message for all to read.

A successful business man was growing old and knew it was time to choose a successor to take over the business. Instead of chosing one of his Directors or his children, he decided to do something different. He called all the young executives in his company together.

He said, " It is time for me to step down and choose the next CEO. I have decided to choose one of you.

" The young executives were shocked, but the boss continued. " I am going to give one of you a seed today - one very special SEED. I want you to plant the seed, water it and come back here one year from today with what you have grown from the seed I have given you.

I will then judge the plants that you bring, and the one I choose will be the next CEO."

One man, named Jim, was there that day and he, like others received a seed. He went home and excitedly, told his wife the story. She helped him get a pot, soil and compost and he planted the seed. Everyday, he would water it and watch to see if it had grown. After about three weeks, some of the other executives began to talk about their seeds and the plant that were beginning to grow.

Jim kept checking his seed, but nothing ever grew.

Three weeks, four weeks, five weeks went by, still nothing.

By now, others were talking about their plants, but Jim didn't have a plant and he felt like a failure. Six months went by - still nothing in Jim's pot. He just knew he had killed his seed. Everyone else had trees and tall plants, but he had nothing.

A year finally went by and all the yound executives of the company brought their plants to the CEO for inspection. Jim told his wife that he wasn't going to take an empty pot. But she asked him to be honest about what happened. Jim felt sick to his stomach, it was going to be the most embarassing moment of his life, but he knew his wife was right. He took his empty potto to the board room.

When Jim arrived, he was amazed at the variety of plants grown by the other executives. They were beautiful - in all shapes and sizes. Jim put his empty pot on the floor and many of his colleagues laughed, a few felt sorry for him!

When the CEO arrived, he surveyed the room and greeted his young executives. Jim just tried to hide in the back. "My what great plants, trres and flowers you have grown,"said the CEO. "Today one of you will be appointed the next CEO!"

All of the sudden, the CEO spotted Jim at the back of the room with his empty pot. He ordered the Financial Director to bring him to the front. Jim was terrified. He thought. "The CEO knows I'm a failure. Maybe he will have me fired!" When Jim got to the front, the CEO asked him what had happened to his seed, Jim told him the story.

The CEO asked everyone to sit down except Jim. He looked at Jim, and then announces to the young executives, "Behold your next Chief Executive Officer!" His name is Jim!". Jim couldn't believe it.

" Jim couldn't even grow his seed. How could he be the new CEO?" the others said.

Then the CEO said, "One year ago today, I gave everyone in this room a seed. I told you to take the seed, plant it, water it and bring it back to me today. But I gave you all boiled seeds, they were dead - it was not possible for them to grow. All of you except Jim, have brought me trees and plants and flowers. When you found the seed would not grow, you substitued another seed with the one I gave you. Jim was the only one with the courage and honesty to bring me a pot with my seed in it.

Therefore, he is the one who will be the new Chief Executive Officer!"

* If you plant honesty, you will reap trust

* If you plant goodness, you will reap friends
* If you plant humility, you will reap greatness
* If you plant perseverance, you will reap contentment
* If you plant consideration, you will reap perspective
* If you plant hard work, you will reap success
* If you plant forgiveness, you will reap reconciliation

So, be careful what you plant now;
it will determine what you will reap later.

Think about this for a minute.

If I happened to show up on your door step crying, would you care?
If I called you and asked you to pick me up
because something happened, would you come?
If I had one day left to live my life, would you be part of that last day?
If I needed a shoulder to cry on, would you give me yours?
This is a test to see who your real
friends are or if you are just someone to talk to you when they are bored.

Do you know what the relationship is between your two eyes?

They blink together,
they move together,

they cry together,
they see things together,
and they sleep together,
but they never see each other;
that's what friendship is.
Your aspiration is your motivation, your
motivation is your belief,
your belief is your peace,
your peace is your target,
your target is heaven,
and life is like hard core
torture without it

It's World Best Friend Week'

Who is your best friend?
